LibreOffice 4.4.4.3 and Document colours

For those who are not aware there is now an option of having Document colours in font, highlight and background colours.
Document colours is a palette made up from the colours that are already in the document.
This is a huge asset, long overdue and will save those of us who use colours quite a bit of time
Several times in the recent past RedHat has changed the default palette of its version of LibreOffice
so for older files that need further work, all the outdated colours had either to be
rebuilt from scratch and used as custom colours or the closest available found from the new palette.

Re: LibreOffice 4.4.4.3 and Document colours

Aside from colours, LibreOffice Writer recently added support for docprint. This new facility is great. Now if Fedora would standardize on using LibreOffice's docprint, along with a few macros, we could open the door to a great many Fedora enthusiasts who would like to work in GUI mode in order to contribute to the Fedora Documentation project.

Re: LibreOffice 4.4.4.3 and Document colours

Document colors is a great thing. I have suffered much (okay maybe that's a little strong worded) from the obsolescence of colors used in older versions of spreadsheets I'm still updating from time to time.

Re: LibreOffice 4.4.4.3 and Document colours

So much for trying to keep a limited palette document,
out of the 50 colours showing in Document colours only 15 were intended !
Be interesting to know if the order they are displayed is the order they
were first used or some other set order as that would help in clearing
out later variations; perhaps a question for a LibreOffice forum.

JONOR, you may already be aware but version 5 is now in the RC3 stage

http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/

As this prog is libreofficedev you can install it alongside the current version and maybe see some extra functionality

I am waiting for Version 5. I am currently using 4.4.7 (writer). LibreOffice is not just looking good, it is looking great.

Re: LibreOffice 4.4.4.3 and Document colours

Thanks for the link thick0, i am interested in how LibreOffice is developing palettes.
When they first forked off there were significant changes made to them.
Only have to look at the work of a coder to see how informative colorizing can be, allowing clearer, shorter documents.

Re: LibreOffice 4.4.4.3 and Document colours

Having done some more tests, Document Colors does not seem to be as reliable at representing all colours present,
some colours seem to be consistently missing and others are added. With Fedora 23 running LibreOffice 5.0.3.2
it is easier to go into Tools>Options>Colors and make up a palette to be saved as a .soc file and use that.
Surprisingly easy to do this once the common procedure of RGB values is followed,
most colours work in multiples of fifths of 256, i.e. 51, with a few multiples of tenths, i.e 25, here and there.
The .soc is currently found in ~/.config/libreoffice/4/user/config.
